Understanding skin diseases

  • Humid weather provides an optimal breeding ground for bacteria and viruses to grow and thrive. Contagious skin infections can be spread readily.

  • In late summer and early autumn, the temperature fluctuates rapidly, the skin loses moisture, reduces oil production and becomes dry. The skin is less protected, and the immune system is weakened, the body is more susceptible to bacterial, fungal or viral infections.

  • Ultraviolet rays are stronger during autumn, especially at noon. Prolonged outdoor activities exposes the skin to sunlight which may cause sunburns and aging.

  • Visible light especially LED lightning, blue light from mobile phones and computers may cause pigmentation.

Skin care

  • Keep shower time short in warm water during spring and winter, avoid using a cleansing body wash of high alkalinity, as excessive will be removed oil of the skin.
  • Use oil-based skin products regularly
  • Use moisturizing skin products during autumn
  • Drink sufficient water
  • Avoid unnecessary skin/cosmetic surgery

Preventing skin diseases

  • Maintain good ventilation in the surroundings and personal body hygiene
  • Keep warm; good circulation improve skin conditions
  • Regular intake of green vegetables, pears, apples, bananas, grapes, tremella, and fruits and vegetables in various colors
  • Avoid excessive coffee and strong tea
  • Apply UV block products with an SPF of 15 when staying in the sun for a long time, or take other sun-protective measures e.g. hat or umbrella.
